Senior Counsel - Privacy and Data Protection The candidate will manage the Vontier global privacy program to include developing, maintaining and implementing policies, processes, templates and assessment tools. Support and foster the development and implementation of Vontier's GDPR compliance project. Design, implement and audit comprehensive cyber security diligence programs for third party software/SaaS vendors. Work closely with the business teams to embed privacy controls into new business processes, products and services and advise Vontier IT on cyber security efforts. Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and cyber security language in contracts with vendors and customers. Provide ongoing Privacy Impact Assessments for all data processing activities, and monitor compliance and advise on corrective actions, when needed. Develop and provide training to employees on privacy and data transfers and data security. Provide ongoing advice and counseling on privacy and data transfers. Interface with external parties such as the works councils on privacy issues. Manage and direct the work of outside counsel, as needed. Incorporate privacy compliance and notices into products, services, marketing efforts and customer interactions. Create and lead the global cross-functional privacy governance team to include any local or regional DPOs. Support and advise on privacy implications of strategic partnerships, M&A activities and post-acquisition integrations. Oversee annual operating company compliance certifications. Direct privacy related investigations and coordinate data breach responses. Interface with regulators. Proven experience in regulatory and policy advice in the areas of data protection, privacy law and information law are required. Expertise in global privacy laws with an emphasis on U.S. and European laws are required. Knowledge of the GDPR regulations and implications for U.S. based companies who have European operations and/or who interact with European business partners and customers are required. Ability to develop strong relationships with all internal stakeholders (e.g. employees, senior management) and external stakeholders (e.g. works councils, local authorities, industry groups) and to work collaboratively across the enterprise to achieve program requirements and business outcomes are required. Working knowledge of IT processes, data security issues including dealing with cyber- attacks, and other critical business continuity issues around the holding and processing of personal and sensitive data are required. Business acumen and understanding of business processes, sales cycle, and competitive business landscape are required. Experience handling and responding to data breaches are required. Experience advising on cyber security policies and matters are required. Ability to travel internationally including the U.S. and Europe, approximately 20% of the time are required. CIPP or European privacy certification a plus.Familiarity with privacy management and compliance software and tools is a plus. Ability to apply business and technical expertise to identify potential issues and partner with colleagues across Vontier to help solve problems of significant importance to the company are required. Strong written and verbal communications skills, ability to act as a change agent through dynamic interactions with others. Comfortable with public speaking are required. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume, frequently changing environment are required. Strong relationship management skills. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with leaders of other functional areas within and across the business areas to seek alignment on objectives for the benefit of Vontier are required. Ability to set and monitor program objectives that are aligned with global Vontier objectives as well as the needs of the Vontier leadership team and employees are require. Combines strategic thinking ability and strategy development with pragmatic business approach are required. Strong problem-solving skills are required. Self-starter and proven ability to take initiative are required.
