Senior Corporate Counsel

Senior Corporate Counsel Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements that accurately reflect the commercial and legal decisions and comply with company guidelines and preferences. Effectively manage external counsel on fast-paced and demanding sales, service, and project development transactions. Actively participate and play a leadership role where appropriate in internal review processes and compliance initiatives and issues. Analyze complex situations and provide practical, timely, and accurate legal advice. Work closely and effectively with General Counsel, senior management, other company lawyers and legal staff (including directing and coaching more junior lawyers), and employees of all levels and cultures. Develop and implement programs to educate and train business teams on legal issues. Develop and implement systems, processes, guidelines, and forms to increase the efficiency of the delivery of legal services. Assist in setting and implementing strategic goals and tactics. Perform other duties as required.

Education: Law degree from an accredited law school, admission to state bar, and ability to practice law in Oregon. At least seven years of experience practicing law. Excellent judgment and analytical, negotiating, drafting, decision-making, and communication skills. Focus on client service; willing and effective collaborator and teammate; ability to lead by influence. Flexibility with travel based on company needs and objectives. Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and become a trusted advisor. Should preferably have experience with project development, project finance, or the following industries: energy; infrastructure; capital equipment; real estate; or construction.
