Employment Attorney - In House The candidate will responsible for assisting the General Counsel and Human Resources department in the management and handling of all labor and employment related matters for the Company. Provide counseling and support related to day-to-day employee relations matters, including recruiting, hiring, employee discipline, performance management, terminations, and restructurings. Provide counseling and support regarding labor relations matters, including advising on contract administration. Draft, revise, and counsel on employment related agreements and policies including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality and non-compete agreements, benefit programs, employee handbook policies, and employee relations documentation. 5-8 years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house, focusing on employment law are required. Advanced communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Ability to handle a high volume of work and juggle multiple matters simultaneously are required. Excellent business judgment and ability to assess legal risk while also thinking strategically and providing practical advice are required. Provides in-house legal counsel on employment and labor related matters including: human resources issues, wage and hour law, performance management, workers' compensation, OSHA/safety matters, unemployment and other state agency claims, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements and policy related issues, protected leave matters, workplace investigations, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations and generally assist the General Counsel and Human Resources Department.Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies for clients in multiple states are required. Advises appropriate decision makers and stakeholders on employment law matters, including, hiring, terminations, discrimination, wage & hour issues, disability accommodation, state and federal compliance and investigations are required. Prepare responses to charges of discrimination filed with various local, state and federal agencies and support resolution of such claims and charges are required. Monitors, identifies and assesses legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advises accordingly are required.
