Senior Counsel, Litigation And Insured Claims

Senior Counsel, Litigation and Insured Claims Duties: Manage, investigate and suggest resolution for employee claims, complaints and reports. Support the Managing Counsel of Litigation in managing litigation and claims for the NA Region and driving initiatives to improve process. Provide advice and counsel to ensure that injured employees receive appropriate care and are able to return to work if possible. Provide support and assistance to the Claims Department to monitor and evaluate the defense of insured company litigation and claims. Actively seek to fulfill commitment to ensure that all employees are treated fairly and with dignity and respect and promoting Dignity and Respect Campaign.

Qualifications: Must have a JD Degree from an accredited law school. Must have an active Bar admission in at least one state. Must have 4+ years of litigation experience. Work experience must demonstrate: Commitment to treating others fairly and with dignity and respect. Ability to communicate clearly and with sound judgment in writing and verbally to individuals of all levels of responsibility both within the company and externally. Ability to interface with internal clients and external customers daily and build relationships as an integral member of a solutions team. Strong skills in institutionalizing and facilitating transfer of know-how and best practice between various company businesses and locations. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality on highly sensitive matters. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office. Effective oral and written communication skills. Active listening skills. Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively. Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately. Attention to detail. Plus: Experience in both a law firm and in-house environment. Experience in appellate. Experience in administrative hearings. Licensed in the State of Florida or already established as Florida Authorized House Counsel. Experience of any type (legal or otherwise) in the security industry. Experience working with business managers. Experience working with claims adjusters and third party claims administrators. Broad litigation experience with general liability matters, including wrongful death cases; and, transportation related claims. Experience with and understanding of personal injury claims and workers compensation claims. Experience interpreting insurance policies and interacting with insurance companies and brokers. Experience drafting company policies. Aptitude and experience identifying and reducing business risks identified through litigated matters. Desire and drive to continuously improve the business through process improvements that reduce risk, save money and enhance the work environment of company employees. Self-motivated and in-tune with the urgency of the demands of the business. Process driven, with ability to manage complex projects, while leading and motivating others to achieve objectives on time.
