Assistant Corporate Counsel, Compliance The candidate will serve as legal adviser on regulatory issues that impact GBS, including those involving ERISA, HIPAA, Licensure, FINRA, Data Security and Privacy, Client Fee Arrangements/Contracts, relationships with M/WBE's, and business activities in foreign markets. Develop, oversee and administer the compliance capabilities, including a review of existing policies, procedures and standards, identify areas of continuous improvement and conduct regular reviews. Participate in due diligence and integration efforts for companies GBS acquires and advise GBS business leaders on compliance or integration matters related to those acquisitions. Review and respond to client contract issues, questionnaires, audits, and RFP's related to compliance matters. Monitor and interpret new regulations or law changes that impact the business and develop appropriate action plans and strategies to accommodate such changes. Required: Law degree. 3+ years related experience. Requires contract and some functional and industry experience and/or expertise. Desired Experience: Prior experience working in a highly regulated environment - such as insurance, financial services or healthcare. Must be licensed to practice law. Experience in a compliance and regulatory function. In-house experience strongly preferred. Experience with employee benefits, ERISA, HIPAA, FINRA. Working knowledge of the Insurance industry. Prior experience designing and building a similar functional capability either as the lead or key participant. Has a proven track record of architecting processes and systems. Understands and integrates details of the business to ensure the compliance implementation is workable across functions.
