Corporate Counsel, Data Privacy Responsibilities: Understand, guide and support privacy by design in multiple areas of PRA s business, with a near-term focus on evaluation and remediation of HIPAA compliance controls in relevant areas of our business, and create practical and scalable practices for our global program that can satisfy requirements across multiple geographies and legal obligations. Work with stakeholders across the Company to develop deep understanding of multiple businesses and business units and the flows of personal data subject to privacy laws. Team with front-line business partners to establish and maintain dynamic privacy risk profiles and develop relevant, practical compliance strategies for each. Conduct and participate in gap analyses, risk assessments and remediation activity for multiple privacy risks, including the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, GDPR, CCPA and others. Take leadership role in guiding innovative uses of real world data and real world evidence in support of effective clinical trials. Guide development of effective, transparent accountability mechanisms for protection and maintenance of de-identification practices under HIPAA expert determination rules. Maintain knowledge of new and evolving privacy and data protection laws and regulations around the world to promptly and effectively identify their implications for the Company s business and our compliance strategy. Collaborate with business leaders to develop effective, function-relevant privacy education and accountability mechanisms. Guide and support strategic implementation of privacy by design processes in the development of software and other tools. Maintain strong understanding of and connection to PRA s Cybersecurity and IT practices and collaborate with those teams to ensure effective alignment and coordination where privacy concerns are at stake. Efficiently and effectively conduct of data protection impact assessments and identify remediations and process improvements that evolve from them. Support PRA contracting functions with education and materials to guide effective and practical understanding, review and negotiation of core privacy-related contract terms, including HIPAA business associate agreements, data protection addenda, and data transfer agreements. Collaborate with business leaders and cybersecurity teams on effective and timely security and privacy incident response. Teaming with other members of Data Privacy Office to identify consistent, scalable solutions to privacy problems built on core privacy principles common to most privacy laws, with the goal of building a sound global program capable of effectively meeting the needs of the fast-changing privacy risk environments anywhere in the world. Participate in client meetings, customer audits and regulatory inspections for questions related to Privacy and Data Protection. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications: Completion of law school with a J.D. or L.L.B. degree and admission to the bar and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction in the United States required. 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, a substantial portion of which has been in-house, with significant experience in building and/or maintaining HIPAA compliance programs. Experience with HIPAA expert de-identification requirements and use of real world data and real world evidence strongly preferred. Significant demonstrable experience with global data protection/privacy laws and requirements, including working remotely with business partners in foreign jurisdictions. Experience with U.S. and international privacy program development and management preferred, including GDPR and CCPA compliance. Demonstrated ability to influence and drive internal and external stakeholders to a decision in a matrixed corporate environment. High level of comfort working with technology and technical teams in developing sound privacy and security practices and strategies. Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a multi-functional, international team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic. Strong communication and writing skills. IAPP certification(s) (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM) preferred.
