Corporate Tax Attorney - Tax Counsel 1 The candidate will assist in managing and planning for federal tax audits, appeals, and litigation matters. They will conduct tax research and provide tax consulting and tax law advice to the Company. Additionally they will be responsible for: Maintaining relationships with representatives of federal tax authorities. Draft, review, and analyze responses to inquiries from tax authorities. Conduct research and analysis on federal and international tax matters related to federal audits. Review, propose, and prepare forms and calculations related to tax return filings and workpapers. Draft memoranda regarding legal and tax issues. Participate in negotiating and resolving federal tax controversy matters. Collaborate with Tax Department personnel, other company business groups, and outside service providers in resolving complex tax positions. Maintain and/or establish policies and procedures related to tax audits. Manages risk related to federal tax audits and appeals. Maintains high level of knowledge of federal income tax laws, rulings, regulations, and develops a high level of expertise in some areas. Identify, maintain, and review tax accounting issues, including documenting ASC 740 (FIN 48) positions for financial statement support. Provide tax consulting advice to senior leaders in the tax department.

The candidate should have 2+ years of corporate tax experience. Should have active State Bar membership. Should preferably have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Should preferably have strong technical tax skills with emphasis on corporate income tax. Demonstrated experience in tax compliance, specifically the preparation of corporate consolidated income tax returns. Public Accounting/Corporate Tax experience is preferred. Experience analyzing accounting principles, corporate income tax returns, and corporate financial statements is preferred. Combined experience in law, public accounting, and in-house corporate tax is preferred. Working knowledge of tax law, GAAP, and regulatory requirements (SOX) is preferred. Solid accounting, financial, and statistical analysis skills is preferred. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and to build relationships with internal partners, external advisers, and federal authorities is preferred. Excellent project management and leadership skills is preferred. Close Date: 06/02/2020
