Mid-level International Trade Attorney

Mid-level Export/Trade Attorney The candidate will work remotely from a home office on a full-time basis. This is a short-term position that can be extended. Will work with the Assistant General Counsel in charge of trade and compliance to provide support to the trade and compliance team. Will be granted moderate to broad latitude in making independent decisions within defined parameters. Develop export control procedures and processes. Brief executives on trade regulatory changes and their impact on the company. Inform and train internal stakeholders on trade regulatory changes. Provide legal research, analysis, and support relating to trade compliance and trade laws. Draft trade compliance policies and procedures. Advise on trade matters related to new market entry and new regulations. Serve as subject matter expert on trade compliance; provide support to all product lines on export controls, sanctions, and customs. Evaluate and increase the efficiency of existing current export and import compliance programs. Provide guidance to improve existing, or redesign existing, export compliance program, including classification matrices. Assist in the development of trade compliance training programs for various business units. Provide guidance on regulatory trade changes. Assist in managing ITAR matters.Assist in trade compliance due diligence for current and future mergers and acquisitions. Should have 5+ years of experience in trade compliance. Experience with performing analytical research are required. Must have proven skills using Microsoft Office suite products. Should have ability to manage systems and databases, automate processes, and identify efficiencies; power user with extensive expertise in Microsoft Access, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Extensive experience with, and understanding of, systems organization, database management, security access, reporting and analysis are required. Must have excellent writing and presentation skills.
