Corporate Counsel Duties: Advise product, engineering, partnerships, operations, marketing, and other teams on a full range of legal issues, including compliance with financial services regulations (e.g., TILA and Reg. Z, ECOA and Reg. B, FCRA and RESPA), privacy (e.g., GLBA and CCPA), data security (e.g., ISO 27001), consumer protection laws and regulations and risk management. be the primary point of contact for drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and finalizing new and amended contracts and will manage the contract review process as well as ensuring ongoing compliance with contractual requirements. Identify and explain non-standard terms and associated risks to relevant business stakeholders, interpret and advise on contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure. Identify, implement, and maintain a system for creating, editing, storing, tracking, administering and managing all new and amended contracts. participate in reviews of all advertising and marketing materials and ensure they are compliant with applicable UDAAP and financial services laws and regulations. provide practical training on legal issues, including relevant financial services and FinTech laws and regulations, data privacy and security laws and general commercial contracting principles, and prepare and provide internal teams with succinct guides and checklists they can proactively use to guide them in their day-to-day initiatives. Build processes to improve the company s operating efficiency and mitigate legal risk; and. Research a range of novel legal questions and distill findings to advise internal stakeholder.

Qualifications: Active and in good standing member of a US State Bar. JD Degree from an ABA accredited law school. 5+ years of legal experience (a combination of law firm and in-house experience focused on consumer financial services and technology would be ideal). Experience working with financial services, data privacy and security, and consumer protection laws and regulations, including those administered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and state financial services regulators.. Detail-oriented project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing projects to effective resolution; and. Proven ability to work with teams of multiple stakeholders as well as independently with limited guidance as a natural self-starter. Should be: Comfortable negotiating ambiguity and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Pragmatic and carefully weigh tradeoffs on a case-by-case basis to achieve the most value for our members, customers, and team. Exceptional professionalism; strong work ethic; desire to learn and grow; sense of humor; and the flexibility needed to thrive in an innovative and fast-paced business environment.
