Employment Counsel RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the VP, Global Employment Law, will handle a diverse and challenging array of employment matters in support of the company's US workforce. Will partner with the People Team (including Talent, Benefits and Compensation) and management to provide guidance on all facets of employment law, play a leading role in ensuring multi-jurisdictional compliance, supervise outside counsel on employment litigation matters and perform a variety of other legal duties as needed. Develop a deep understanding of the Company's business and products and the applicable industry developments and requirements. Provide day-to-day legal advice and counsel to the People Team on a variety of employment matters. Manage outside counsel in employment litigation and administrative agency proceedings, and provide risk assessment and strategic guidance to internal clients. Partner with the People Team and Compliance to conduct workplace investigations. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with employment laws across multiple jurisdictions. Draft, harmonize and implement standardized employment-related templates, including offer letters, separation agreements, performance reviews, disciplinary documents (e.g., performance improvement plans, written warnings), employee handbooks and employment policies. Assist with employment diligence for potential business acquisitions, and support integration activities for completed acquisitions. Stay current on employment law developments and evolving best practices, and provide training and updates to the People Team as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: JD Degree with a strong academic record, and membership in good standing in at least one state Bar. 7-11 years of relevant employment law experience. Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and counsel on all aspects of employment law, including discrimination, harassment and retaliation; disability, FMLA, leaves of absence, ADA and reasonable accommodation; wage and hour and FLSA exemption issues; contingent workers; RIFs, reorganizations and WARN; non-competition and other restrictive covenants; and whistleblowing. Experience with all aspects of employment litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery (including e-discovery and depositions) and mediations/settlement conferences. Experience conducting workplace investigations. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Excellent analytical skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex legal concepts into plain English and to articulate risks clearly and succinctly. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated record of cross-functional collaboration, being a team player and forming strong working relationships with clients. Strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment. Ability to operate independently, be proactive and prioritize multiple competing projects simultaneously. Professional presence and the ability to interact with credibility and persuasiveness with all stakeholders. Ability to manage and handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest levels of integrity, ethical standards, discretion and sound judgment. Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
