Senior Privacy Counsel

Senior Privacy Counsel The candidate will collaborate with members of product and other legal teams, engineering, design, and cross-functional teams throughout the company to support privacy practices, including its world-class privacy-by-design program. Will ensure company's data processing globally aligns with all privacy laws, focusing especially on laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive, and other European consumer laws. Manage or lead management of company's GDPR compliance privacy program. Partner with Product Counsel on sophisticated privacy issues as they emerge new developments. Help continue to improve over time company's privacy-by-design requirements, working closely with company's Privacy Engineering team. Analyze risks and requirements, as well as assist in drafting descriptions for new products and technologies. Conduct privacy reviews, impact assessments, and integration plans for potential acquisitions and partnerships. Lead all aspects of and analyze proposed, pending and new domestic and global privacy and consumer legislation that could impact the business and recommend any potential or vital modifications to practices, as well as advise Policy team on lobbying priorities. Conduct privacy trainings across the company. The candidate should have a J.D. degree or foreign equivalent with membership in at least one State Bar or foreign equivalent. Must have 7+ years of experience practicing law, including 3+ years of practice in an international setting. Should preferably have 1+ year of experience serving as a data protection officer. Extensive experience advising on global privacy issues is required. Knowledge of global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially those for ecommerce, ad tech, and Internet companies is needed. In-house experience or law firm experience counseling clients on international privacy matters is essential. Ad tech experience is a plus. Ability to speak at least one European language, e.g., French, Spanish, Dutch, or Italian would be an asset.
