Assistant General Counsel, Global Digital and Privacy Law The candidate will provide strategic leadership and advice to company's biopharma business on all aspects of data privacy issues globally. Will develop trusted advisor relationships across company's businesses, tech and compliance teams on global privacy issues. Lead the strategy for external notices and consents, working with the privacy centre of excellence on roll out/operational implementation. Review, interpret, and lead implementation of new laws globally, providing official guidance and case law to ensure ongoing compliance by company's business operations. Foster a data protection culture within the company and help implement essential elements of privacy law. Develop and maintain privacy-related guidance and templates for all company commercial contracting activities. Provide subject matter expertise and leadership in the following business areas: marketing, ad-tech and digital campaigns; privacy and data diligence issues associated with mergers and acquisitions / business development; complex technology transactions and data transfers; website and e-commerce privacy by design / cookie banners / consent tracking; consent, notice, consent tracking, privacy tech, privacy by design; R&D data in clinical trials and non-clinical trials context, secondary use of R&D data, advanced privacy issues in new technologies; and data governance and data strategy in the context of privacy and personal data. Primary responsibility for third party privacy contracts design, templates and playbook across company.

The candidate should preferably have significant post-qualification experience. Should be a privacy subject matter expert with significant experience advising at board level or equivalent and building cross-functional relationships. Must have expertise in the following areas: Technology law, Life sciences R&D, Pharma and life sciences marketing and promotion, Privacy (CIPP/E qualification or equivalent preferred), Intellectual Property, E-commerce, Data analytics. Knowledge and understanding of compliance programs, including data protection laws, health related regulations and clinical trials required. Complex multi-jurisdictional technology, contracting and privacy experience gained from a multinational environment needed. Excellent technical and drafting skills are essential. A track record in leading and advising on a range of privacy related issues is needed. Experience in a life-sciences business, ideally with change management experience is a must. Track record in developing and implementing a global privacy compliance strategy is required. Previous leadership and/or management experience is desirable. Application Deadline: 7 July, 2020.
