Corporate Counsel The candidate will work on a broad range of commercial contracts and product development initiatives. Legal advisor that can learn quickly, use good judgment, and stand out as a leader when providing advice to our business teams. Tackle topics addressing consumer protection, marketing, privacy, intellectual property, and assist with complex commercial relationships that contribute to our success. Provide balanced legal guidance to global product and engineering teams on new and existing offerings and features throughout the entire development lifecycle. Advise on compliance issues, regulations and industry standards with a focus on consumer protection, privacy, and intellectual property such as technology licensing, open source management, third party IP reviews, and other related matters. Draft and manage consumer FAQs, product policies and disclosures, terms of use, and creatively implement related processes. Provide support to the sales/commercial teams by drafting and negotiating agreements for our various sales and partner channels, including procurement contracts. Assist with intellectual property aspects during M&A activities and support other IP-related corporate projects. Think ahead, be proactive, and help prepare for and mitigate risks that may arise in future. JD from accredited institution and State Bar certification (preferred AZ or CA). 5-8 years of combined or relevant legal experience at a law firm or technology company are required. Experience with open source reviews, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements focusing on licensing, intellectual property arrangements, sales, procurement, and other commercial models are required. Familiarity with launching (consumer) products and advising on legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the technology space are required. Substantial experience with US and international laws, content policies, privacy matters, intellectual property, and consumer protection laws are required. Ability to identify critical issues, prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently and coach others as needed; willingness to take on all levels of work assigned, whether simple or complex are required. Eagerness to learn, brainstorm problems as a team and contribute to a high performing team. Able to think strategically and drive projects and cross functional teams with end-to-end accountability are required.
