Counsel II, Auto Insurance Responsibilities: Reviews and drafts various letters, notices, and other forms relating to financial and insurance products and services. Reviews, drafts, and negotiates agreements and contracts relating to financial and insurance products and services. Identifies applicable laws, assesses them, and then counsels the client on compliance of its programs and procedures. Researches allegations, facts, and points of law and provides sound, timely, and practical legal advice. Participates in trade associations on behalf of Company. Applies knowledge of enterprise goals, business environment, and functional needs to design and develop strategic plans; executes strategies and methods in alignment with enterprise goals and Legal Staff policies. Serves as trusted advisor and valued business partner to individuals and business teams, including but not limited to senior leadership. Offers creative solutions to sensitive issues using multi-disciplined approach. Effectively manages sensitive and complex issues that impact Company. Works in a collegial manner with other Legal Staff colleagues, accepts direction from Legal Staff leadership, and demonstrates effectiveness and clarity in conveying legal advice.

Qualifications: Law degree from a reputable law school and strong academic record. Bachelor's Degree, preferably with academic distinction. Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Ideally, 5 + years full-time legal practice, including in-house counsel experience. Experience in the insurance and financial-services industry preferred. Instinctive ability to avoid making the simple complex, to see the forest for the trees, and to propose solutions before others know problems exist. Exceptional alignment with Company's culture, including a contagious enthusiasm for serving others, being inclusive, and excelling together. Unquestioned reputation for ethical conduct and integrity. Exemplary written and oral communication skills. Intellectual curiosity and entrepreneurial zeal. Strong work ethic and an ownership and goal-oriented mentality. Robust interpersonal skills--self-aware, accountable, and empathetic. Track record of taking initiative, innovating, and implementing solutions. Keen attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
