Senior Counsel - Technology/Data Privacy

Senior Counsel - Technology/Data Privacy Duties: Serve as the Company's technology, data privacy and cybersecurity lawyer, providing advice to the Company on legal matters related to the storage and management of information within computer networks and cyberspace, including as it relates to the internet, e-commerce, and data privacy and security, as well as drafting and negotiation of technology contracts and protection of intellectual property rights. Identify risk and partner with the business to develop risk mitigation strategies. Work with the Company's DPO to support the planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to a comprehensive global privacy plan. Partner with business to help drive innovative products that are privacy centric by design. Ensure that corporate data collection, storage and protection programs are consistent and comply with legal requirements. Advise and support cybersecurity and information security leaders across the organization relating to governance, oversight, policy development, implementation, compliance, and monitoring; cyber security defense, preparedness and response; security products, systems, networks and operations. Resolve legal information-security issues involving security technology, databases, information networks, and international service delivery of technology. Advise on notification and other obligations in connection with security and privacy incidents and incident response programs. Review/draft and negotiate technology contracts; identify and assess legal risks and opportunities and advise accordingly. Advise on protection of intellectual property rights. Guide and educate the business on best practices and trends in regard to consumer protection laws, privacy laws, cyber security, and e-commerce and e-discovery issues.. Lead cross functional projects by supporting the strategic business priorities and influencing decision making. Requirements: 10+ years of legal practice; in-house experience preferred. Strong knowledge of global privacy and cyber security laws. A strong academic record from top schools. Strong organizational skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities & meet short deadlines, and work in a very fast-paced environment. Strong advocacy, negotiation, interpersonal and legal research skills. Strategic and innovative thinker; business orientation. Effective management of outside counsel.
