Privacy Counsel The candidate will take on this job, owning all legal, regulatory, and compliance functions in the privacy/security realm and reporting to Associate General Counsel. Will be responsible for developing and implementing the optimal legal and regulatory strategy for's privacy and security programs, working alongside other internal stakeholders such as the Product and Engineering teams as well as executive leadership. More broadly, she or he will provide support across the organization as a legal specialist in the areas of information privacy, data security, and HIPAA compliance, identifying and mitigating privacy and security risks across firm's business. This support will include advising on compliance across all aspects of state and federal privacy law and regulation, including data protection, data retention, data security, and data breach rules. Also own HIPAA compliance program, serve as's Privacy Officer for HIPAA purposes, work with clients to determine appropriate HIPAA designations, and negotiate Business Associate Agreements. In addition to privacy/security related functions, will support and assist the Associate General Counsel and the leadership team in other legal and regulatory matters facing Company, including practical and timely contract review and negotiations, legal advice, strategic direction, and guidance on operational matters. As a trusted advisor, the Privacy Counsel will partner closely with the Associate General Counsel to support and advance corporate strategies and goals. The candidate should have JD degree from an accredited law school in the United States. Should be licensed attorney in a U.S. jurisdiction. Should have 2-5 years of experience in information privacy and healthcare regulatory law at a law firm or in-house. Must have subject matter expertise in federal and state information privacy laws and regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH. Experience drafting and negotiating agreements, with an emphasis on information technology and information security and data use subject areas is required. Should be compelling storyteller, able to communicate complex ideas and concepts in accessible ways. Must be able to solve problems from first principles and resist this is how it's always been done thinking. Exceptional analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities are required.
