Senior Counsel - Employment Law

Senior Counsel - Employment Law Duties: Proactively counseling and providing strategic advice to the human resources (HR) department. Proactively counseling and providing strategic employment-related advice to UCB's U.S. business units. Oversee all employment-related litigation and administrative claims, including retaining and managing outside counsel. Providing support on other litigation matters. Assisting with internal compliance, audits, and HR investigations. Overseeing and improving HR-related policies and procedures. Managing employment-related trainings. Negotiating and drafting HR-related documents, including contracts, non-solicitation letters, policies/procedures, etc.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited US law school. Member in good standing of a State Bar Association. 8 years experience with focus in employment law; preferably at both a law firm and in house. Preferred: Ideally having professional experience providing counsel to the pharmaceutical, medical device or life sciences industry. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and handle multiple, often complex projects simultaneously.
