Part-time Labor And Employment Counsel

Part-time Labor And Employment Counsel The candidate will oversee all aspects of union contract compliance and day-to-day management of union relationships. Provide advice and counsel regarding the interpretation of CBAs. Respond to bargaining unit grievances and complaints/concerns. Establish and maintain productive relationships with union leadership and representatives. Employment Law Advice and Counsel. Provide day-to-day advice to managers and the HR department on compliance with local, state and federal employment laws and regulations. Draft employment-related agreements and policies. Conduct workplace investigations. 8+ years of labor/employment law experience with extensive California law experience. Experience negotiating and administering CBAs, conducting grievance meetings, and participating in arbitrations and NLRB proceedings; Strong working knowledge of labor law principles; Juris Doctorate degree required. Approachable and patient with employees and managers; with passion for providing excellent customer service. Excellent business oriented judgment and the ability to analyze problems, propose resolutions, and provide advice that is creative, practical and legally acceptable, taking into account the needs and objectives of the organization; Excellent writing skills as well as strong verbal skills with the ability to articulate difficult concepts accurately and succinctly; Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite and GSuite. Note: The candidate to cover a 4 month leave of absence. 20 hours per week at varying times depending on business need.
