Senior Counsel Employment Duties: Report to the Associate General Counsel and team lead, and be responsible for assisting the Human Resources department and senior leadership in the management and handling of all strategic labor and employment-related matters. Providing advice and strategic counseling to the Human Resources organization and business leaders across the company on a full range of strategic and global employment issues, including recruiting, hiring, organizational design, terminations, wage and hour, executive compensation and benefits, investigations, diversity and inclusion programming, employee classification and contingent workforce issues, and more. Staying current and ensuring compliance with all labor and employment laws and regulations; advising the Human Resources organization as to the operation of best in class HR programs, talent development and policies; counsel on risk mitigation as to employee relations and investigations; assisting in the development and implementation of strategies to promote an overall culture of integrity; drafting employment-related agreements, including employment contracts, service agreements, confidentiality agreements, noncompetes and separation agreements; tracking industry trends that impact the company; supervise, manage and evaluate outside counsel on employment-related matters; educate clients and stakeholders on employment law matters; and otherwise lead and independently handle legal matters and projects ranging from the basic to the complex; and recognizing when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the Associate General Counsel. Senior Counsel, Employment is expected to establish and maintain relationships, credibility and trust with clients, business stakeholders, other legal team members and colleagues.

Qualifications: Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD Degree or LLB); additional advanced degree relevant to the specialty preferred. 6-8+ years legal experience at a law firm or in-house representing employers, including as to regulatory and agency matters such as EEOC charges and OFCCP audits, required. Some experience in international employment law practice in a law firm or corporate legal department required. Some experience in mediations and ADR required. Prior in house experience preferred but not required. Provides highly specialized legal advice and thought leadership. Ability to manage heavy workload in a high-pressure environment; self-starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty and fairness. An effective communicator and relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to persuade and influence others through collaboration across a global, matrixed organization. Sound judgment; ability to make clear and succinct reasoned recommendations; ability to work in a matrix environment and determine who should be kept informed. Risk assessment skills and pragmatic business acumen, with the ability to further develop these attributes over time. Ability to travel as required by the position. English language skills to business standard required.
