Managing Counsel - Bankruptcy/Financial Risk The candidate will be providing legal counsel, research and analysis on bankruptcy matters (both pre and post-petition). Interface with credit and risk departments, clients, and opposing counsel. Participate in workouts and restructuring. Drafting vital agreements and documents. Providing timely advice and support to senior business and sales executives as well as legal, regulatory, credit and compliance staff. Identifying potential risks, strategies and solutions, manages or escalates the risk evaluation as necessary. Should have 8+ years of creditor/debtor side bankruptcy. JD from accredited law school. Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice, in appropriate jurisdiction. In good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record. Experience in corporate or law firm environment with pre-petition and post-petition bankruptcy. Proficient in all chapters of bankruptcy. Chapter 7, 11 and 13 specifically. Experience in restructuring due to bankruptcy. Knowledge of merchant acquiring business and legal experience in financial services sector would be a plus. Exhibits effective time management skills and project. execution skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work independently but also be a team player and collaborator.
