Lead Counsel, Data Privacy The candidate will be responsible for the company Global Data Protection (GDP) Program, including daily operations of the GDP Program; design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of policies and procedures; monitoring of the GDP Program compliance; implementation of a global data protection training program; data mapping coordination; data incidents management, tracking and investigation; data subjects rights requests management; DPIA (data protection impact assessment) coordination; cookies and consents management; notifications to and interactions with the data protection authorities. Strategic partner to the Chief Privacy Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Chief Information Security Officer for the development and implementation of the global data protection strategies and yearly objectives. Preparation of reports and key metrics for senior management on data protection. Preparation and review of intragroup data processing agreements, external data transfer agreements and data processing agreements with global vendors. Coordinator of data protection support by the regional counsels, the compliance function and Information Technology colleagues. Global monitor of legislative changes in relation to data protection. Project lead for data protection initiatives. Must have JD degree or equivalent training and experience that qualifies the candidate to practice law in a jurisdiction in the sub-region. Preferably certified Data Protection Officer (DPO). Preferably certified Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Should have 6-7 years of legal experience required with a combination of meaningful experience in private legal practice and as a corporate data protection professional, preferably in a regulated business. Must have experience working with individuals in a global organizational environment. Must have demonstrated experience providing effective, practical guidance for implementation of data privacy legal requirements including the GDPR.
