Senior Litigation Attorney

Senior Litigation Attorney The candidate will be responsible for law and motion work, taking and defending depositions, all phases of discovery, and court appearances. Reports to the Head of Litigation. Attend court appearances. Draft pleadings, petitions, discovery, and other motions. Spearhead settlement negotiations. Conduct legal research and writing. Support key business officers with focus on general business matters. Provide legal support to litigation trial attorneys (in-house and/or outside counsel), and be accountable for performing assigned tasks including, drafting pleadings, dispositive motions (e.g., motions for summary judgment, demurrers, motions to strike, etc), discovery motions, and document reviews, taking depositions, conducting discovery, appearing in court, attending conferences, conducting legal research, meeting with expert witnesses, and attending ADR sessions. Must have passed the California State Bar, and will have past IP litigation and transactional experience. Have high law school graduation ranking. Law review or law journal background is also helpful. Must have a JD from an ABA-accredited school of law. Admission to the California State Bar. 6-10 years experience as a litigation attorney in both Federal and State courts. Must have law firm and/or in-house litigation management, and in-court experience. Experience with case management, legal research and drafting. IP litigation experience a must. Trial experience preferred. IP transactional experience. Business litigation experience. Employment law experience preferred. Must be able to exercise good judgment and make decisions. Superior legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent academic credentials. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
