Privacy Counsel And Brand Enforcement The candidate will investigate and manage cases involving counterfeiting, product diversion, trademark and patent infringement, unauthorized usage of trademarks and copyrighted materials. Manage outside counsel on active cases and review pleadings and correspondence. Assist with managing outside investigators by providing training and guidance on surveys. Conduct high level background checks to support civil and criminal enforcement efforts. Draft cease and desist letters and negotiate successful outcomes for the business. Perform legal research on matters when needed. Counsel and provide support on all privacy and data security related matters managed by the Privacy Office. Advise on the requirements of, and compliance with, federal and state privacy and data security laws. Investigate and respond to data incidents, including preparation of required documentation pursuant to federal and state laws or in response to enforcement actions for alleged data security and privacy violations. Draft privacy policies and procedures for compliance with federal and state laws. Coordinate with outside counsel to advise business on privacy matters. Assist with risk assessments and remediation tasks when appropriate. Must have Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and Bar admission to a U.S. jurisdiction. Should have 2+ years of relevant experience with a private firm or corporate legal department. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should have knowledge of basic office tools such as word, power point & excel. Experience in intellectual property litigation preferred. Experience advising on privacy and data security law and compliance efforts desired.
