Managing Director Litigation & Employment Senior Counsel Duties: Responsible for all aspects of corporate dispute management (litigation, arbitration, mediation), with an emphasis in employment litigation, including interfacing with senior management, internal information resources, outside counsel and adverse parties. Lead and manage a team by training, developing, and coaching team members on a consistent basis. Receive legal work from the Vice President of Legal, General Counsel, and internal clients. Manage day-to-day aspects of entire corporate dispute docket (litigation, arbitration, mediation), providing counseling and advice to FedEx Office's management and other team members on a full range of issues, primarily employment, but also customer, real estate, technology, IP, and general commercial. Counsel and train the Human Resources Department on a variety of labor and employment issues in a timely and responsive manner. Delegate work to and manage outside legal counsel in appropriate circumstances. Delegate work to and manage, train and develop litigation and employment attorneys, and support team Participate in budgeting process and assume responsibility for disputes legal budget. Manage organization of and periodic reporting on all disputes. Communicate with executive, administrative and line management in a timely, professional, efficient manner. Gather and convey information pertaining to areas of concern for the Legal Department, expressing recommendations on these areas, and executing to results based on management decisions. Understand and work with the Legal Department's matter management system and other organizational systems. All other duties as needed or required.

Requirements: JD Degree, with license to practice law in the state of Texas. 10+ years' progressively responsible legal experience in corporate dispute management. 5+ years law firm experience in litigation coupled with 2+ years in a corporate legal environment preferred. 5+ years of management experience. Prior experience managing dispute matters, with an emphasis on employee disputes, but also including customer, real estate, general commercial, technology, and IP. Knowledge of all issues and dispute-related processes, including litigation, mediation and arbitration, electronic discovery, extensive document production and subpoenas. Prior experience actively managing outside counsel and the budgeting process. For new hires, must meet all FedEx Office employment qualifications in force at time of hiring. For current FedEx Office team members, must meet hiring criteria for the position and transfer requirements as outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
