Contracts Attorney The candidate is responsible for providing broad-based legal and compliance support regarding the contractual obligations of the Company. Supporting the business teams on a variety of contractual legal matters including reinsurance treaties, corporate arrangements with third party vendors, non-disclosures, information technology, security and data privacy, real estate. Management of the contracts department. Prepare draft contracts, endorsements, and other documents for clients and markets. Researches regulations, applicable laws and other industry requirements impacting contracts, as needed. Discusses contract issues through cross-departmental collaboration with Colleagues. Facilitates the negotiation of contract language and liaises with clients and markets, as needed. Drafts and reviews template wording annually or more frequently if needed. Establishes contract and correspondence files guidelines, processes and procedures. Works with the General Counsel addressing compliance matters addressing applicable industry regulations. Develops and implement training program specific to contract negotiations for business leaders, as necessary. Gains broad understanding of the environment in which the client operates and the marketplace in which the transactions that Trean handles take place. Supports team by maintaining Colleagues workloads in their absence. Performs other activities, duties and assignments as needed or requested. J.D. required. 5-7 years of transactional experience in corporate environment. 4-5 years reinsurance industry knowledge, specifically focused on contracts/treaties. Management experience a plus.
