Corporate Attorney Duties: Review proposed leases, contracts, Terms and Conditions documents, software and other licenses; recommend revisions to internal clients and draft appropriate language; negotiate acceptable revisions, assess and minimize risk to Company; advise client of responsibilities; provide guidance to be used in making business decisions. Review all marketing pieces, research the USPTO database and online websites to determine legal liability for trademark infringement and FTC compliance (if any); assess the legal risk of distribution. Review and research the names of all new products or product lines/collections on the US Copyright Office Database, the USPTO database, and online websites to determine the legal liability to company for trademark infringement (if any); assess the legal risk of using the proposed name. Review current leases/contracts, analyze and interpret applicable provisions, craft defensible positions that are in the best interest of company in response to specific questions from internal clients. Draft licenses for a third party's use of James Avery's designs. Review current leases, draft a legal risk assessment of renewing the lease without any amendments to the current lease and include recommendations for changes to specific provisions. Perform legal research on LexisNexis or other secondary sources, analyze and draft memoranda summarizing research. Consult with Director - Legal Services on complex legal provisions in legal documents, high risk assessments on Marketing pieces and Design names, and other sensitive issues. Draft contracts including AIA architect and construction contracts, leases, amendments, legal correspondence, and other miscellaneous legal documents; Interpret and complete estoppel agreements, subordination agreements, and other miscellaneous agreements. Reviewialleged infringements of Company's copyrights and trademarks by third parties; confer with Director -Legal Services to determine a course of action to follow in attempting to reduce future infringements. Observe all safety regulations; participate in all safety training; report all unsafe conditions to the appropriate company personnel. Adhere to all company policies including attendance guidelines; Freedom from Harassment; and all electronic communication guidelines. Perform all the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, demonstrated commitment to effective customer service delivery and integrity, and the ability to work productively as a member of a team or work group are basic requirements of all positions. Consistently demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills; a strong attention to detail and a high degree of organizational skills. Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Builds and maintains effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with the team, both departmental and with cross functional teams to build positive working relationships and establish a high level of trust and credibility throughout the organization.

Requirements: JD degree required. Must be admitted in good standing to the State Bar of Texas or can receive a license by reciprocity. Business/Corporate work may substitute for legal experience. Preferred experience includes drafting and negotiating commercial leases or contracts. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate legal concepts and opinions in legal and in layman's terms to other attorneys and to the business clients. Ability to perform sound legal analyses and to assess risk appropriately. Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret legal documents, including retail store leases, complex contracts and licensing agreements. Meticulous attention to detail in the legal reviews and proofreading of leases, contracts, licenses, and terms and conditions documents, and other miscellaneous legal documents. Ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently Knowledge and experience with Word, including Track changes, Excel, Outlook. SharePoint, preferred. Ability to consistently maintain a driving record that meets insurance company requirements. Pass a background check as well as an alcohol, controlled substance, and illegal drug screen that meets Company standards before beginning regular employment.
