Legal Counsel - Compliance Duties: Works closely with the General Counsel of Corporate to: Implement, improve and oversee a global compliance program designed to prevent, detect and mitigate occurrences of non-compliance ensure recognized and effective compliance practices that uphold Amcor's core values, and support additional miscellaneous legal matters common in large global companies including public company reporting obligations and corporate governance matters. Partner to lead in developing and managing the corporate compliance program designed to prevent, detect and mitigate occurrences of non-compliance to include, but not limited to: Insider Trading, Whistleblower hotline, global compliance training programs, anti-corruption program and Corporate Code of Conduct. Monitor and assess compliance with policies and procedures, while actively providing recommendations to enhance/develop, implement and modify policies and procedures as appropriate Own confidential system for employees and other stakeholders to seek guidance on business conduct issues or to report suspected violations of law or company policies or procedures. Ownership to include, but not limited to: Execute policies for responding to reported complaints and other allegations and inquiries; review investigations; develop training procedures and guidelines for investigators as needed; assist with investigations as needed, use data from such process to provide input and feedback into company risk areas and training needs. Oversee and manage a global online training program focused on specific compliance areas; manage outside vendor in this space and help develop long-term compliance training road map While predominantly focused on compliance matters, this role will support special projects and other job responsibilities as assigned with the Corporate General Counsel. May likely include: public company reporting aspects; corporate governance matters; business legal support for commercial, compliance or transactional initiatives; legal operations ; Identify and analyze legal issues, drafting applicable key documents, presenting clear recommendations and ensuring compliance. May support managing outside counsel and other outside vendors/partners for applicable matters. Partner with Human Resources in applicable employment-related matters namely associated with the whistle blower program. Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations impacting the industry and ensure organizational alignment to applicable matters.

Qualifications: JD Degree/L.L.B with qualification to practice in applicable country/ies required. 5+ years experience in first-class private firm or in an in-house legal B2B environment. 2+ years experience with Compliance program leadership. Experience with labor and employment matters preferred. Experience with commercial contracts and business law preferred. Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently, with confidence to make judgment calls where required . Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships (managing in most directions through the org). Strong communication; ability to build the trust and confidence of internal stakeholders by providing considered, commercially astute and timely responses, triaging for local external support / counsel where necessary.. Strong judgement, demonstrating the effective handling of situations and high priority issues. Solid business and commercial acumen. Constant curiosity with the proven ability to act as an advisor to the right levels of the organization.. Proven understanding of applicable local, region, national and/or international laws. Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity. Unquestionable reputation for integrity and ethics. Resilient and flexible of mind; adapts well to new and changing circumstances and adversity. Strong business intellect, achievement-oriented, competitive spirit. Team-oriented, supporting success of others. Self-aware and open to feedback. Applicable language capability for local practice.
