Contracting Attorney- Data Privacy

Contracting Attorney- Data Privacy Duties: Primary function will be to review and understand privacy provisions of complex contracts, such as data transfer agreements, Article 28 contracts, and other mechanisms, and recommend and negotiate privacy contract language with clients and others. Review and negotiation of engagement contracts with our commercial and public sector client base, including client agreements, non-disclosure and business associate agreements, subcontracts and other related documents related to practice. Review of requests for commercial and public sector proposals and development and maintenance of compliance plans for public sector projects. Assist in the ongoing development of, and support of, our Consulting Practice quality review and inspection programs. Support the development of practice aids (checklists, outlines, templates, etc.) for use by our practitioners in addressing professional standards and quality and risk management matters in day-to-day client service. Research and draft internal guidance regarding professional standards, quality and risk management and related matters. Preference will be given to internal candidates with the requisite skills and demonstrated ability to grow. Qualifications: Must have 4 years or relevant privacy experience, including international-specific privacy experience. Expert in international privacy laws, including GDPR, PIPEDA and CASL. Ability to quickly learn and understand new and emerging privacy laws and regulations, and explain complex concepts to a business audience. Strong research, writing, analytical, and communications skills. Significant knowledge of contracting concepts. JD required. CPA is a plus. Professional practice employment or internship with a CPA or consulting services firm, or Employment or summer associate with a business law firm, or. Contract or risk management role in professional services, IT consulting firm, or government contractor. Limited travel.
