Employment Counsel Duties: Serve as a subject matter expert in all areas of employment law with particular emphasis on Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and FLSA. Provide advice and counseling to management and human resources business partners on a broad range of employment issues including: recruiting, hiring, employee relations, discipline, terminations, reductions-in-force, leaves of absence, accommodations, wage and hour compliance, contingent worker issues, organized labor matters, and government contractor issues. Assist in the management of employment litigation and respond to pre-litigation demands and federal and state agency charges. Advise human resources and other partners on the investigation of employee complaints received through the company's complaint hotline or directed to executives, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate follow up and reporting. Consult with human resources and other boundary partners regarding the formulation and revision of employment policies and guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Consult with boundary partners on the design of educational programs and tools to guide business partners on various employments laws and best practices. Identify and interpret employment law developments and changes in the law, and provide relevant summary communications and recommendations to human resources and other business partners. Recommend, manage and implement various projects and programs that support team goals. Ensure projects are completed in accordance with company guidelines, quality standards, budget, and targeted timeframe. Other duties as may be needed from time-to-time.

Qualifications: J.D.is a must. Must have 4 years of experience in the practice of employment law and licensed in at least one state. Some experience working with a multi-unit national company is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate very strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as effective use of influencing and problem-solving skills. Must be able to demonstrate analytical skills necessary to identify likely causes of employee relations issues and to proactively take initiative to recommend and implement appropriate action in an effective and timely manner. Must be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of state and federal regulations governing all aspects of the employment relationship. Excellent customer service skills, time management, project management, and follow-up required. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel preferred.
