Part-time Manager, Labor Employment Attorney The candidate will be providing training, development, and career planning. Will be instilling the belief that the customers are key to long-term success. Encouraging a strong sense of responsibility, involvement, and commitment. Recognizing and rewarding both individual and team efforts. Conducting legal work on a high volume of transactions, and assisting in providing compensation, employee benefits, labor relations, and employment-related legal advice, counseling, and service to the corporation, its officers, and employees. Effective legal business partner by working closely with management and the HR team. Provide legal advice, counseling, and service on complex legal issues concerning the rights, obligations, and privileges of the corporation and its employees. Provide counsel on labor-related legal matters including advising on the terms of the various collective bargaining agreements, representing management in grievances, preparing for and conducting arbitrations, and the development and interpretation of Company related policies and programs related to represented employees. Assist the Director in providing legal advice and assistance to company executives, corporate departments, and regional offices. Manage EEO litigation and work with outside counsel to resolve claims. Coordinate, negotiate, and draft legal documents. Coordinate and interact with company departments regarding employee issues. Assist the company's risk management and human resources departments with the training of employees in best practices. Develop and deliver training programs on employment-related issues for Company employees and managers. Conduct workplace investigations. Review and draft employee manuals and policy statements. Provide counsel regarding the Company's EEO, diversity, and affirmative action programs. Provide counsel to the Company's employee benefit and executive compensation plans and programs. Perform other duties assigned as needed

The candidate should have a JD degree from an accredited law school. Must be admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, preferably Connecticut. Must have 7+ years of substantive experience with a corporate legal department or a nationally recognized law firm in labor relations and employment law required, including employment agreements, restrictive covenant, non-compete and confidentiality agreements, contract negotiations, collective bargaining, discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour compliance claims, EEOC, OSHA, ERISA, NLRB, whistleblower, and wrongful termination claims, employee benefits, grievance and arbitration proceedings, issues relating to mergers, reductions in workforce and acquisitions, and other employment, labor, and litigation issue. Substantive experience with multi-plaintiff and/or class action litigation essential. Substantive experience representing management with unions needed. Experience with Canadian labor and employment law preferred.
