Senior Manager, Employment Law Counsel The candidate will be providing legal support in connection with labor and employment issues, including: emphasis on wage and hour requirements, employee classification issues, workplace accommodations, employment agreements and corporate employment policies, employee mobility issues, including analysis/enforcement of non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality, and trade secret provisions in employment agreements, leaves of absence, contingent labor management, workers compensation, compensation and equity issues, including compensation plan review and pay equity analysis. Partnering closely with the Human Resources organization and business leaders providing advice and counsel on a number of employment-related issues (e.g., disciplinary actions, terminations, other employment actions). Conducting trainings for Human Resources and managers on a variety of employment-related topics (e.g., accommodations and leaves of absence, workplace investigations). Strategic management of employment-related litigation and claims (including investigation of agency charges and drafting position statements, engaging and managing outside counsel, and negotiating resolution of disputed claims). Responding to 3rd party subpoenas. Providing legal support in the area of commercial contract review and M&A transactions and integrations. Working on special assignments as needed; developing a close working relationship with senior managers; leading working teams containing members with diverse backgrounds and perspectives to achieve strategic goals of the business; and facilitating communications with, and building consensus among, colleagues and management. Routinely interacting with management at various levels within the operating businesses. Collaborating effectively with employees at all levels of the corporation; analyzing problems and presenting solutions, alternatives and risk analyses to management; gaining the confidence and respect of management, and driving projects to completion.

The candidate should have a JD degree and admission to practice law in the State of California. Must have 4+ years of experience in labor and employment advice/counseling and employment litigation/claim management. Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills are a must. Proficiency with MS-Office Suite applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) essential.
