Legal Counsel - Employment Duties: Manage global employment-related projects across 50+ countries, and work closely with regionally based Employment CoE lawyers on coordinating rollout of global employment-related initiatives. Support offices located in the US, Canada and Mexico covering the full range of employment issues including hiring, termination, mobility and immigration, disputes, investigations, regulatory issues, diversity and inclusion strategy, global and local forms and approaches, advisory support for both firm-wide and specific employee issues and counseling. Support all employees of BCG and the firm's new businesses (compensation, benefits and partner-related issues will generally be covered separately but in a closely coordinated manner); Coordinate closely with the HR function on a global basis to ensure a consistent approach to policies and decision-making across the organization; Team successfully across and integrate fully into company's Global Legal Team to resolve or support resolution of complex HR and employment legal issues; Manage external counsel; and perform other duties as assigned or required. In all cases, company's Legal Counsel will be an exceptional lawyer, able to efficiently deliver high quality work, and will have substantial experience of advising on commercial, strategic and outcome-based solutions to HR issues.

Qualifications: Legally qualified in at least one jurisdiction, with deep global employment law expertise; 7-10 years of practicing labor and employment law (candidates outside of this range will also be considered if they can demonstrate they meet the overall requirements of the role); Experienced at managing complex projects; highly organized; Prior experience with a reputable law firm preferable, as well as in house experience within a complex international organization, preferably professional services or similar; Knowledgeable advising in both civil and common law jurisdictions; Comfortable presenting to both large and small audiences; Experienced at managing outside legal advisers internationally and other providers of expert advice on employee matters; and Right to work in US preferred. Technical and functional expertise desired: Critical thinker with a creative and employee-focused mindset aligned to the principals (rather than arbitrary rules) that maintain outstanding record as an employer of choice; The ability to quickly comprehend complex sets of international laws and regulations and interpret those laws within the context of BCG's global policies; Excellent organizational and project-management skills; Superior analytical skills and creative problem-solving ability, with an appreciation for striking a practical balance between business and legal objectives; Talent for absorbing new skill sets and areas of expertise quickly and comfortably and the flexibility to deal with a diverse international set of stakeholders and advisors; A positive, dynamic, business-focused approach to legal practice; Perform successfully and produce results in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, client-oriented environment; Be a pragmatic, high-energy professional, with personal and professional self-confidence; and Have the interpersonal skills necessary to build relationships throughout a loosely structured, highly collaborative and consensus driven organization.
