Senior Corporate Counsel, WebEx The candidate will be responsible for partnering with global product and engineering teams to guide development of products and services to meet strategic objectives while complying with applicable regulatory requirements across various industries and markets, with particular focus on telecom, healthcare, education and public sector markets. In addition, will partner closely with product management, engineering, business development, marketing, compliance and operations teams to support Webex Online services. Will provide legal counsel on a variety of product compliance, market access and other legal matters, and will also be involved in structuring, negotiating and advising on various partnership transactions across the collaboration portfolio. Provide guidance to product management and engineering teams on issues related to new and existing services, products, and features throughout the entire product lifecycle. Be a resident expert and resource on issues related to privacy and data protection on a global basis. Assist with the acquisition and integration of products, content, services, and technologies, including due diligence and integration related to mergers and acquisitions. Develop a strong understanding portfolio product architecture and all features and functionality supported by the platforms. Work with product and engineering teams to ensure our products and services comply with existing applicable regulations. Support the technology acquisitions legal team in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with third party vendors. Partner with privacy stakeholders in identifying privacy risks and in conducting data protection and/or privacy impact assessments. Monitor and analyze developments in regulations applicable to product and service offerings and advise internal teams as necessary. Synthesize input from outside counsel, own research, and feedback from internal stakeholders to provide practical guidance applicable to product teams.

The candidate should have 5+ years of relevant legal, in-house and law firm experience. Must have J.D. with strong academic record required. Bar admission in good standing. Proven leadership skills and track record for building business relationships and gaining client trust are required. Must have ability to quickly absorb, evaluate and respond to new and novel issues and to craft creative legal or business solutions. Should have solid knowledge of software licensing, intellectual property, global privacy laws and regulated markets. Must have excellent organizational and project management skills, effective communication skills, quick learner, and a strong sense of initiative. Experience negotiating contracts with technology partners is required. External privacy and/or security certification(s) (e.g., CIPP/E, CISM, CCSK) is a plus.
