Associate Export Compliance Counsel

Associate Export Compliance Counsel Duties: Provide legal guidance to ensure Company and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and partners comply fully with all applicable trade laws and regulations, including the EAR, OFAC sanctions programs, and other U.S. and international regulations. Conduct and ensure proper classification of Company's software and technologies, including those with encryption capabilities. Work with engineering teams to evaluate application of technical control parameters in the CCL. Apply for BIS export licenses, classification requests, advisory opinions and other regulatory filings through SNAP-R as necessary to support Company's operations. Assist with the implementation of and improvements to Company's export control protocols, including updating/enforcing Company's export control program and technology control plan. Advise on trade compliance policies and procedures. Perform compliance risk audits and prepare proposals to address identified risks. Monitor legal, regulatory, and trade developments and provide guidance to mitigate impacts. Develop and execute risk-based trade compliance training and communications. Contribute to the development of compliance roadmap and strategic planning.

Qualifications: Law degree from an accredited law school. Current member of the California State Bar or Washington D.C. in good standing. 3+ years of export compliance experience with emphasis on the EAR in a law firm, as an in-house attorney, or comparable government experience. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills involving complex legal issues. Preferred: Export compliance experience in the semiconductor industry. Experience and knowledge of CBP/import regulations and best practices. Experience in U.S. public policy and governmental affairs. Engineering or technical background. Experience in handling enforcement actions and governmental audits.
