Litigation Attorney

Litigation Attorney Responsibilities: Manage litigation, pre-litigation and investigations including claims. Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks. Advise business partners to proactively address and resolve potential disputes while supporting business objectives. Provide support and legal guidance on global disputes across a diverse set of subject areas. Take a hands-on approach to all facets of litigation, including responding to subpoenas and discovery requests, fact-finding and analysis, reviewing, drafting and revising legal filings and other litigation-related documents, interviewing witnesses, preparing witnesses for testimony, and negotiating and drafting settlement documents. Oversee discovery, including gathering information and documentation and assisting in document reviews and issuing legal holds. Respond to demands for indemnification and other demand letters. Manage outside counsel, including staffing, litigation strategy, work product, and budgets. Institute legal procedures to ensure the litigation function scales with the business. Assist with budgeting and forecasting numbers for litigation related matters. Assist with quarterly litigation reporting to Finance and Accounting teams, management, and external auditors. Conduct legal research. Provide other legal support as needed.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school and licensed, as a member in good standing, with any U.S. state Bar. 5 years of related legal experience (e.g., employment, product liability, commercial, corporate, and environmental disputes). Top law firm, as well as corporate legal department experience preferred. Tech industry experience a plus. Strong fact-finding, drafting, negotiating and research skills. Excellent persuasive writing skills. Excellent communication and analytical skills, impeccable attention to detail, and strong sense of ownership and accountability. Ability to manage competing expectations and multiple assignments, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment. Strategic thinking, excellent judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision; autonomously or part of team. Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide succinct results-oriented legal advice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey legal advice to internal business stakeholders, inspire confidence among business clients, and interact with business professionals at different levels. Strong business acumen with an ability to balance legal and business requirements; flexible and adaptable; unafraid of ambiguity or a challenge. Well-developed project management skills (i.e., identify an issue, develop a plan, obtain cross-functional consensus, and implement a process).
