Contracts Attorney Duties: Support the LPD Divisional Counsel and work with other Legal team members to provide guidance to business leaders and global team members on, and address a range of, Legal, operational and business issues that impact the LPD and LSG businesses and sites. Perform the critical tasks of drafting, reviewing, negotiating, helping close, and maintaining signed commercial and intellectual property agreements for the Laboratory Products Division (LPD), part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global industry science leader. Draft and negotiate with large industry-leading pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, research and manufacturing companies, OEM and supply contracts, service agreements, technology in-licenses and out-licenses, quality agreements, SAAS, distribution agreements, and other commercial agreements of varying complexity, as needed. Identify ways to exploit opportunities based on technology owned by our Company or third parties. Perform analysis on legal rights, obligations, and strategies to help the Company achieve its commercial goals and objectives. Oversee and provide training on Thermo Fisher's third-party distributor due diligence process for LSG ( Securimate ) in consultation with LSG Legal attorneys and the Corporate Compliance team. Manage the LSG diligence related to cannabis, hemp and CBD reviews and assist in the continuous improvement of the company's policies and diligence processes on this topic. Participate in due diligence and other activities relating to M&A and integration activities, as well as, pending litigation efforts. Promote PPI (process improvement) initiatives and adopt a process improvement culture within the LPD businesses. Assist in the resolution of commercial or other legal disputes. Support the LPD Division Counsel and work with others in LPD Legal and the Legal Department to provide guidance to our business and commercial colleagues on a range of substantive legal topics. Work with supporting functions such as purchasing, accounting, finance, sales, product management, and marketing to resolve a wide range of business, contractual, financial and operational issues.

Requirements: Licensed attorney with a JD degree and admission to a state bar. A degree in chemistry and/or life sciences with solid knowledge of contracts law is preferred. 3+ years of commercial contracts Legal experience, preferably including in-house experience, representing life sciences and other relevant regulated-sector companies in either a multinational company Legal department or relevant department of full-service law firm. Robust Legal acumen and business sense with strong influencing skills. Ability to develop practical processes/approaches, and to drive strategy to action and solutions to completion. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, robust and enthusiastic self-starter, excellent team player. Ability to perform duties independently with minimal instruction given on new projects or assignments. Ability to solve problems of diverse scope and moderate to high complexity. Multiple tasks must often be performed contemporaneously, involving commitments of moderate resources, and requiring understanding of issues surrounding contracts, technology and corporate structure.
