Associate General Counsel-Litigation The counsel will work on everything from contracts to food science. Assess the risks, evaluate effects and propose sustainable solutions that have a positive impact. Advise the business on a wide range of litigation matters. Report to the SVP, General Counsel. Manage US litigation docket (except for labor & employment matters). Develop and execute litigation strategy for each matter. Manage outside law firm partners. Budget and track spend for all litigation matters; manage fees and expenses vigilantly. Ensure alternative fee arrangements are within agreed spend parameters. Work with insurance companies to optimize coverage. Conduct engaging internal trainings for employees on various topics to help reduce risk. Provide accurate, reasoned and concise advice on short notice without undue reliance on outside counsel. Serve as a lead role in dispute negotiations. Collaborate and grow the greater team; partner with peers to increase efficiency and the skill within the department. Be responsible for internal litigation reports and tracking as required and coordination of accruals. Assist with special projects as needed. Effectively communicate risk and strategy to business partners including Senior Management. Have the opportunity to serve as single point of contact for one of the Company's 7 business units, which requires the provision of practical legal advice on matters beyond the scope of litigation.

The candidate must hold a JD from an accredited law school and have a valid license in good standing to practice law; member of Colorado Bar or eligible for admission to the Colorado Bar with 10+ years of experience managing litigation as an attorney in private practice and/or with a large corporation. Business litigation, class action and product liability defense experience required. Prop 65 experience is a plus. In-house experience preferred.
