Compliance Counsel The counsel will work under the supervision of the Managing Counsel, Transactional. Coordinate with other organizational functions to convey the latest compliance laws, rules, regulations, and standards. Provide legal support to any compliance investigations and audits. Work closely with the senior management and human resources to evaluate and respond to suspected compliance violations, and for consistent enforcement, disclosure, and remedial action protocols. Review and draft legal documents and advise employees on legal and regulatory issues related to privacy, vendors, projects, sales and marketing. Ensure the company exercises due diligence and sound internal controls to operate with integrity and protect against legal risk. Develop and document ethics and compliance policies and procedures. Work on resolution of disputes and complaints related to contractor's license, business license, and other licenses required by regulatory agencies in various states or AHJs. Provide guidance and oversight of privacy compliance including CCPA, CPRA and analogous laws. Maintain a level of knowledge and staying abreast of regulatory change and industry development in all states where the Company operates. Legal research and analysis of significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions and terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Work in collaboration with other in-house attorneys and outside counsel. The candidate must have 5-7 years of experience as an attorney providing compliance oversight either in an in-house or law firm capacity. Experience of 5 years in compliance oversight and 3 years in Privacy is preferred. Must have privacy experience as well as familiarity with OneTrust privacy software. CIPP certification is a plus. Familiarity with TCPA is a plus. Must have a valid CA Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to attend hearings and other legal matters as needed. Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple hats, flexible attitude and quick to react. Bilingual Spanish and English is a plus. Excellent writing, research and analytical skills required. Must be able to communicate at a professional level with all levels of the company.
