Attorney, Labor & Employment Law Responsibilities: Provide in-house legal counsel on labor and employment related matters, which may include, but not limited to, human resources issues, wage and hour law, workers compensation, unemployment and other state agency claims, labor relations, employee benefits, employment agreements, policy related issues, FMLA matters, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitrations. Litigate labor and employment matters, including drafting motions, defending and taking depositions, responding to discovery requests, attending hearings, and mediating and settling claims, with minimal oversight. Supervise, manage and evaluate outside counsel on employment related matters including litigation. Draft employment-related contracts, including Confidentiality Agreements and Employment Agreements. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Identify and assesses legal risks and opportunities within the labor and employment area and advises accordingly. Recognize when to elevate certain matters to the attention of the General Counsel. Educate clients and stakeholders on legal matters, policies and procedures. Establish and maintains relationships, credibility and trust with clients, stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues. Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), affirmative action, collective bargaining, unions, labor relations, and human resources. Perform other tasks as assigned by the General Counsel. Obtain and maintain position-specific licensing. Use personal device/cellular phone for job related operational tasks, job duties, review of company documents, etc.

Qualifications: JD Degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in Nevada. 3+ years of substantive labor and employment experience with a corporate/in-house legal department, appropriate government agency, or a law firm. Strong knowledge of Federal and Nevada labor and employment law. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to analyze situations, make independent decisions, prioritize to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and be a team player. Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to successfully lead and mentor a team. Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to effectively communicate in English. Polished appearance and demeanor. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to obtain & maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules and regulations, policies, and procedures. Preferred: Experience in handling labor and employment matters before federal, state courts and administrative agencies. Experience in counseling clients on labor and employment matters. Experience negotiating with organized labor unions and representatives. Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
