Assistant General Counsel - Privacy, Information Security and Data The candidate will lead a team of attorneys and legal professionals supporting privacy and data use across the enterprise, including supporting the execution of innovative data driven business initiatives. Provide counsel on legal and regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures, best practices, and strategies for managing privacy and data security risk. Serve as the legal representative on various internal partnerships involving privacy and data security matters working cross-functionally with business leaders to translate legal and policy requirements to business partners to position privacy as a competitive advantage that can drive business growth and impact customer experience. Provide proactive legal advice to Senior Leaders within the organization on the most complex and emerging privacy and cybersecurity risk issues. Counsel through threats and incidents and develop strategies to both mitigate and manage risk. Direct cybersecurity incident and data breach investigations (related but not limited to hacking, phishing, trade secrets theft, click fraud, cyber threats, and identity theft). Develop and maintain relationships with key internal constituencies, including Business Groups and Enterprise teams in advising on compliance and risk management requirements applicable to the Company's products, services and operations and in supporting the Company's risk management framework. The candidate should have an Active State Bar membership. 10+ years of practicing as an attorney with a major law firm, banking regulatory agency, or in-house law department, including 4+ years of representing financial services firms in banking regulatory or transactional activities. 4+ years of management experience leading large teams of attorneys and other legal professionals practicing in the area of banking regulatory or transactional activities in a major law firm, banking regulatory agency or in-house law department. Budget management experience. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships within and across business lines at all levels of the organization. Leadership and management experience for multiple legal divisions and managers with staff representation across multiple geographic locations. Deep understanding of existing and emerging cybersecurity related risks, statutes, regulations and best practices (General Data Protection Regulation, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Binding Corporate Rules, etc.). Experience reviewing and editing policies and procedures to enhance Privacy, Information Security and Data compliance. Demonstrated experience practicing in the areas of data security and protection, data ethics, information security and privacy laws. Experience working within a privacy, information and cybersecurity and data law team at a large financial institution or experience at a Federal banking agency or large law firm preferred. Familiarity with enterprise risk management frameworks and functions and regulatory expectations for risk management at large banks and financial holding companies is preferred. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and to develop and execute risk-focused solutions. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships within and across Business Groups and Enterprise Functions at all levels of the organization. Effective written and oral communication skills. Effective organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills, including ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Ability to motivate, communicate, delegate, and inspire confidence in others. Will undergo a criminal background check.
