Corporate Counsel - Employment Responsibilities: Help build employment law function and provide support to the Assistant General Counsel - Employment on all employment law related matters for portfolio companies. Serve as a trusted advisor to our portfolio companies and provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counseling on a range of employment issues, including: performance management, employee relations, hiring, terminations, leaves of absence and accommodations, compensation, internal investigations, benefits, privacy, and general policy adherence. Draft and implement a variety of workplace policies, employee training and employment-related templates and agreements in collaboration with the broader Legal Team, Human Resources Team, and other functions as appropriate. Draft employment agreements that support the entire employee lifecycle at portfolio companies, including: employment contracts and offer letters, confidentiality agreements and other restrictive covenants, and separation agreements. Assist with employment and litigation related diligence in connection with potential business acquisitions, and support post-acquisition integration activities for completed transactions. Actively monitor changes to employment law and other legal decisions, statutory changes and developments, and provide updates to portfolio companies. Prepare training materials for portfolio companies regarding employment best practices and policy compliance. Provide support on litigation matters for portfolio companies, including responding to attorney demand letters, assisting with discovery and motion practice, and making recommendations on litigation strategy. Work with outside counsel, as needed.

Requirements: JD Degree. Admitted to a state Bar (NY preferred). 3-5 years of a mixture of relevant litigation and employment law experience in a top-tier law firm, an in-house legal department and/or a private equity firm. Experience with general commercial matters and contract drafting preferred. Proactive, strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
