Corporate Counsel Duties: Will provide legal advice and counseling on a wide variety of cutting edge matters, including data privacy and protection, AI/ML, product liability, intellectual property and regulatory compliance. Many of these matters will be in the Fintech area, including payments and lending. Working as a member of the Transactions and Marketing Team, will be responsible for collaborating with multiple innovative teams around the world to power prosperity for consumers and small business. Will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising upon various U.S. and global commercial transactions, including in-bound and out-bound data licenses, SaaS, marketing, sales and other commercial contracts with minimal direction and supervision. Supports marketing activities. Will work closely with the business on matters including online social marketing, claims substantiation, comparative claims and the structuring and interpretation of survey results. Qualifications: JD Degree and membership in good standing with at least one US State Bar. 10+ years of experience primarily advising technology companies. Experience navigating deep technical partnerships. Experience providing legal support on a global scale. Excellent teaching and training skills. Excellent driver and project manager. Experience in-house preferred. Significant breadth of knowledge in as many of the following areas as possible: data privacy and protection, IP, mobile and cloud computing, competition law, and technology licensing. Comfortable and adept at balancing uncertainty and opportunity, and thinking creatively to enable the business to make smart decisions. Ability to produce clear and succinct written legal analysis and business communications, and counsel and manage clients, including senior management. Knowledge of regulations in the financial services area, including FCRA, state lending and payments laws, TILA, and have experience advising on advertising and marketing. Knowledge of advertising and consumer protection laws and the desire to learn specific areas of marketing law (such as CANSPAM and TCPA compliance).
