Litigation Counsel The candidate will assist with management of US litigation docket (except for labor & employment matters). Collaborate with the AGC to develop and execute litigation strategy for each matter. Manage outside law firm partners. Budget and track spend for assigned litigation matters; manage fees and expenses vigilantly and fairly. Ensure alternative fee arrangements are within agreed spend parameters. Work with insurance companies to optimize coverage. Develop and conduct engaging internal trainings for employees on various topics to help reduce risk. Provide accurate, reasoned and concise advice on short notice without undue reliance on outside counsel. Lead dispute negotiations when appropriate. Collaborate with peers to increase efficiency and skill within the department. With the AGC, responsible for maintaining internal litigation reports and tracking and the coordination of accruals. Effectively communicate risk and strategy to business partners. Assist with special projects as needed. The candidate must have a JD from an accredited law school. Must have a valid license in good standing to practice law; member of the Colorado or New York Bar or eligible for admission to the Colorado New York Bar. Must have 5-10 years of experience managing litigation as an attorney in private practice and/or with a large corporation. Business litigation, class action and product liability defense experience desired. Prop 65 experience is a plus. In-house experience preferred.
