Corporate Counsel

Corporate Counsel The candidate structures, drafts, and negotiates complex commercial agreements and contracts. Advises executives within the company and works alongside employees in the Contract Logistics, Transportation Management, and Freight Forwarding lines of business in addition to Corporate Support functions. Advises executive team on contract status and legal risks in new commercial ventures. Manages various projects and deadlines. Provides training and development support to Paralegals within department. Maintains strong working knowledge of legislative changes that may affect company, customers, and/or affiliates. Performs pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights. Effectively communicates legal risks with executive staff. Other duties as required and assigned.

The candidate must have Juris Doctor degree from a reputable university and membership in good standing with at least one state bar required. Must have 5+ years of legal experience as a transactional attorney, preferably with experience in commercial transactions. Must have PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
