Government Contract Corporate Counsel Duties: Provide legal guidance advising, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating on sophisticated government contracts, subcontracts and modifications to existing contracts on U.S. Government programs. Provide legal guidance on all aspects of Federal government contracting including in connection with obtaining and performing contracts and subcontracts on Federal programs, advising on government contract disputes, contract claims, investigations, disclosures and appeals. Advise Cerner executives on Federal government contracts related business and regulatory issues, including government contract formation, compliance, cost accounting, intellectual property and subcontracting. Partner with the business to execute effective strategies to reduce risk throughout Cerner. Supporting a broad workforce requires the best talent in every field. Qualifications: JD Degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school. License to practice law in Missouri or the District of Columbia or ability to obtain license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction. 2+ years of relevant U.S. Government contracting work experience. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years of experience advising clients on U.S. Government contract matters. 3+ years of experience in proposal development, negotiations, contract performance and dispute resolution in connection with U.S. Government programs. 3+ years of experience in business development, contracting and regulatory compliance matters. Knowledgeable in intellectual property protection. In-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS as well as those requirements unique to contracting with the Government. Ability to negotiate through strong oral and written communication skills while displaying a commitment to a high level of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to quickly and effectively manage a variety of assignments under time constraints and effectively prioritize workload based on business needs and strategic goals. Excellent oral and written communication and negotiation skills along with a commitment to a high level of ethics, professionalism, and confidentiality. Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations. Work in accordance with corporate and organizational security policies and procedures, understand personal role in safeguarding corporate and client assets, and take appropriate action to prevent and report any compromises of security within scope of position. Specialized knowledge in cybersecurity and/or privacy strongly preferred.
