Senior Corporate Counsel The candidate will serve as the primary in-house counsel to manage the company's intellectual property portfolio including working with outside counsel to register and maintain trademarks and patents. Will be providing advice and recommendations regarding IP issues relating to firm's purchase and distribution of content. Updating company leadership on a quarterly basis regarding all IP matters. Serves as the primary in-house counsel to support the company's Lightning Source Print-on-Demand / Distribution business unit on all legal, strategic, and corporate matters. Provide legal counsel for Print-on-Demand / Distribution and other Group businesses, as requested, in the context of strategic and tactical objectives of the business. Balancing the need for practical legal/business solutions with legal risks in the following areas: commercial contract drafting and interpretation; antitrust; employment, data privacy, intellectual property, commercial disputes, litigation, bankruptcy, and any other legal matters that arise. Partner with and provides general counsel on a variety of legal matters too, including executive leadership, business units, and shared services. Work with the Chief Legal Officer of the company in determining cost/benefit of providing legal services in-house vs. outside law firms and manages outside legal firm legal fees and expenses. Monitor and keep updated on new developments in laws, rules, and regulations in the book industry. Should have a JD degree from an accredited law school. Admittance with a license to practice law as a member of the Bar of one or more states and eligible to register as In-House Counsel in the State of Tennessee. Should have 5 years of inside or outside relevant counsel experience. Should preferably have experience managing company Intellectual Property.
