Senior Counsel, Research Intellectual Property Law

Senior Counsel, Research Intellectual Property Law The candidate will provide intellectual property law support for the company's Research including emerging technologies like AI, quantum, and cloud computing. Support all patents, trade secrets, and copyrights owned or to be developed by the team. Develop an intellectual property plan with the research clients to ensure maximum IP protections and freedom of action. Specifically, ensure rapid development and protection of patents and trade secrets is a critical aspect of the role. Should have a Bachelors's degree (with extensive experience) or Masters's degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering. A J.D. degree and member of a State Bar and the US Patent Bar required. Ph.D. in Physics or Electrical Engineering is a plus. Background in and understanding of a wide range of hardware and software technologies is required. Must have extensive experience in patent mining, patent prosecution, and patent defense work. Should have experience drafting and negotiating complex IP Licensing agreements. Extensive legal experience either supporting US government-funded projects or working in the US government is needed. Experience working as a researcher or engineer preferred. Deep background and experience in developing and protecting trade secrets are needed. Must be both proactive and strategic.
