Associate Privacy Counsel Duties: Responsible for setting the privacy compliance strategy, providing legal counsel to all divisions of the corporation, establishing and maintaining compliance standards for the privacy program, including implementation and operational support, and advise the business related to regulatory and industry changes. Report directly to the Chief Privacy Officer and develop hands on experience advising and implementing privacy requirements. An understanding of U.S. privacy laws ideally with an understanding of media and adtech, in addition to playing a strong operational role. Lead management of data mapping efforts. A strong focus on project management and stakeholder communications including maintain a project plan, intranet presence and maintaining metrics and dashboard Privacy Office activities. Support as needed other processes which are led by other team members including PIA and vendor review process, DSAR fulfillment process, responding to inquiries from clients and stakeholders, contracts and amendments and compliance projects related to regulation and self regulatory efforts. Maintain enterprise wide data mapping of personal information including conducting data mapping interviews, managing annual validation questionnaires and updating workflows related to processing consumer requests and process improvement efforts. Maintain project plan, intranet content, metrics, and dashboards related to Privacy Office activities. Support training and awareness efforts including development content and documentation to increase employee understanding privacy policies, data handling practices and procedures and legal obligations. Serve as internal point of contact for relationship and issue management with privacy software vendor and support development of questionnaires, assessments and reports to support various processes including consumer rights fulfillment, PIAs and vendor reviews. Qualifications: Law degree (JD) with Bar Certification. IAPP Certifications CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPP/IT and/or CIPT preferred or willingness to obtain within 3 months. 2+ years experience with data protection/privacy requirements, laws and regulations including CCPA and GDPR. Experience working in cross functional teams and documenting data flows. Experience with privacy in the digital space, including online behavioral advertising, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects under deadline pressure. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a collegial, fast-paced team Familiarity with One Trust CMP, assessment features and vendor management preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills Process oriented. Adept at analyzing and interpreting laws and regulations and providing practical implementable advice. Attention to detail. Sound and balanced legal judgment and business awareness, with an appropriate understanding of the need to pragmatically assess risk. Strong interpersonal and influencing skills which can be applied to both internal and external relationships, with the ability to reconcile compliance requirements with business needs as far as is possible.
