Senior Director, Corporate Counsel The candidate will serve as the lead counsel and member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Healthcare Market Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The Sr. Director, Corporate Counsel, Healthcare Market Division will provide Healthcare Market Division senior management with effective advice and counsel on divisional strategies, product implementation, compliance, and regulatory matters, manage the legal function and oversee the work of outside counsel. The Sr. Director, Corporate Counsel, Healthcare Market Division will provide support principally in North America on a wide range of Legal matters within the healthcare market and the GPO Corporate Accounts team, with a focus on general commercial contracting and counsel, along with compliance as it relates to applicable healthcare regulations (Anti-Kickback, False Claims, Open Payments), quality, procurement, regulatory, and dispute resolution. The Sr. Director, Corporate Counsel, will work closely with business functional colleagues, including but not limited to Sales, Global Trade Compliance, Quality, Procurement, EHS, and Regulatory, as well as other members of the Global Thermo Fisher legal department, to facilitate business transactions and manage Legal compliance matters and requests for the Healthcare Market Division business. Assume ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the Healthcare Market Division conducts business in compliance with federal, state, local and international laws. Provide leadership and legal advice on a range of legal, regulatory and compliance matter, including anti-kickback, false claims, open payments, commercial anti-trust, data privacy (HIPAA), and FDA regulatory Provide ongoing advice and support to the business principally related to customer and supplier contractual matters, service engagements, SOWs, etc., including the drafting, review, and negotiation of all manner of contracts. Anticipate and drive solutions for a range of legal and business issues. Manage a team of contract and compliance professionals. Negotiate complex contracts and partnerships in accordance with organizational and departmental policies and procedures, including group purchasing organizations, distribution agreements, supply agreements, and ecommerce agreements. Advise and counsel on matters related to product marketing and promotional initiatives within the healthcare market. Liaise with other relevant functions throughout the business, such as purchasing, accounting, sales and marketing. Educate and train employees on their obligations under the company Code of Conduct, legal parameters, and healthcare compliance.

The candidate should have Juris Doctorate, and admission to a state Bar. Should have 10 years of commercial contracts and business Legal experience. Mix of law firm and inhouse experience a plus. Broad range of experience working in the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry or similar regulated environment. Experience in healthcare legal, regulatory and compliance areas. Ability to translate legal theory into applied business success. Strong negotiation abilities and business acumen. Customer centric and solutions-oriented approach in supporting both external and internal clients while protecting the best interest of the company. Experience developing, driving and implementing legal solutions. Ability to deliver strong results with limited resources, under tight deadlines and with a high degree of accuracy. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Project and process management capabilities and experience with an understanding of commercial and financial implications of the strategy development process. Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication and presentation styles. Strong work ethic with ability to work independently.
