Privacy Senior Counsel

Privacy Senior Counsel The candidate will join our enterprise privacy legal team and will help support our Corporate and Strategic Transactions legal team, as well as our Enterprise Supplier Management team. Working closely with legal, business, and risk partners, you will be a go-to resource on issues arising with vendors or partners that relate to privacy and data protection, with a particular focus on innovative and emerging tech. Will operate at the intersection of financial services and technology, and you will brainstorm, problem-solve, and innovate to assess and mitigate legal risk in a challenging and evolving space. Should have strong analytical and organizational skills, great judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with complex legal issues that may arise suddenly and require quick resolution. Provide expert advice on data protection and privacy issues arising in new or evolving vendor and partner relationships. Assist with contract language governing data privacy and protection issues. Conduct due diligence on privacy and data security issues arising from new vendor or partner relationships or strategic transactions. Advise regarding the impact of proposed privacy law and regulation on business initiatives. Manage outside counsel regarding transaction-related privacy matters. Should have Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Should have active member in good standing of at least one state bar. Should have 5 years of experience in a law firm environment, at a government agency, or as in-house counsel. Preferred Qualifications: A background in privacy law is a plus. Experience with tech transfer and vendor agreements, application of law to new technologies, or application of law to innovative uses of technology.
